Namur Folklore and traditions

These events have certainly won acclaim, but the cultural life of the province harbours many other gems besides.
Such as the bustling Festival of Wallonia in Namur and elsewhere, the many craft markets, the bonfires, and the folk groups and events, including the traditional marches of the Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse region, whose roots date back to the Napoleonic era. Namur is also the world capital of Choral Singing.

In 2021, the UNESCO registered Namur stilt jousting on the list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
