Sustainable Namur
In 2010, Namur established a theme park dedicated to ecological construction: the Ecolys® park. This area is home to companies active in the field of sustainable construction, but also companies that demonstrate a real concern for the environment when it comes to the design and management of their installations.
In 2012, Namur was awarded the prize of the most sustainable municipality in Belgium. This distinction rewards municipal initiatives in regards with sustainability, within the organization, but also at the level of spatial planning, energy, waste, mobility, business and social sector.
In 2013, a new trade fair was held at the Namur-Expo exhibition centre: the Recupère fair. It puts forward solutions for consuming differently (eco-consumption, eco-design and recycling are among the themes covered).
